Headwinds

Canadians hoping to sail into the New Year on a ship steered by a new coalition government should watch out for the headwinds being blown by the country's conservative national news and opinion-makers.  Read the Comment pages in the Globe & Mail today, and you'll find the editorial board and all four columnists lining up forcefully against a Liberal-NDP coalition.  Recall, also, the chorus of nays coming from the crazies at the National Post yesterday (and listen for it again today).

According to a senior Conservative speaking to the Globe, the Harper government's fight against the coalition is "a PR war now."  Indeed.  And it appears to be the media - not the Conservatives - leading the charge.
